In the course of the repair have been replaced about 10% of the wings and 20% of the bottom, and necessary grinding and painting were performed.

“Our enterprise has carried out the ship’s minor repairs twice, however, after staying so many years outside, the tender’s hull requires an extensive repair”, — told Igor Savelyev, Deputy Director General of the shipyard. “I would like to emphasize that this work was for the shipyard’s personnel not only a production process but it also had a patriotic nature. The repair of the ship, which had been built by our shipyard more than 70 years ago and which became a symbol of Leningrad Road of Life, became a matter of honor for shipbuilders of JSC “Admiralteiskie verfi”.

“I would like to express my deep gratitude to all participants of the repair which has been carried out on the highest professional level, — in such a way the work, performed by shipbuilders, was estimated by Alexander Voytsekhovskiy, chief of museum “Road of Life”. “The tender-scow attracts a keen interest among visitors of our museum and especially among veterans-survivors of Leningrad siege. Next year our country will commemorate 70th anniversary of Great Victory and at present we can proudly demonstrate to all visitors the repaired ship, which looks as if being ready for launching !”

Self-propelled landing two-hold tender with cargo capacity 25 tons has been installed for permanent storage to commemorate the deeds of arms of seamen and the heroic labor of Leningrad’s shipbuilders during Great Patriotic War. The scow was built in 1942, and it was restored by Leningrad Admiralty Association in 1983. In 1942, in conditions of the siege, “Admiralteiskie verfi” built 116 one-hold and two-hold tenders.

During navigation of the same year by means of tender scows on Road of Life were evacuated 250,000 residents of the city and, in its turn, the city received more than 100,000 tons of provisions and ammunition as well as reinforcements for forces of Leningrad front. The tenders were used in big landing operations in Ladoga and the Gulf of Finland.
