JSC “ADMIRALTY SHIPYARDS” LAUNCHED SUBMARINE “VELIKIYE LUKI”

JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” is launching submarine “Velikiye Luki” of project 677 “Lada”.

The submarine “Velikiye Luki” was laid at JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” in March of 2015. The shipyard is constructing the submarine in accordance with the updated design project based on the results of operational testing of submarine “Saint-Petersburg”. The submarine control system, propulsion system and the navigation complex were upgraded.

In the end of December of current year, JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” shall commence the official sea trials of submarine “Kronstadt” of project 677. The shipyard also proceeds construction of two more submarines for the project – “Vologda” and “Yaroslavl”. Keels for these submarines were laid simultaneously in June of 2022. The state contract for their construction was executed between JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” and RF Ministry of Defence in June of 2019 in the course of forum “Army-2019”.

The submarines of project 677 are the fourth generation of conventional submarines and at the present time are considered the most advanced and perspective national conventional submarines considering both combat efficiency and other performance characteristics. JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” is the only enterprise for construction of submarines of stated class.
