JSC “ADMIRALTY SHIPYARDS” SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED STATE TRIALS OF SUBMARINE “MAGADAN”

JSC “Admiralty shipyards”» (is included in United Shipbuilding Corporation) completed state trials of large diesel-electric submarine “Magadan” of project 636.

The third submarine of the series for Pacific fleet retraced back after a stage of the state trials. Within a week the enterprise specialists tested operation of all shipboard equipment and machinery including sonar and navigation systems.

In the course of the testing program the submarine also successfully performed deep diving. Besides was made an assessment of the submarine steering in different operating depths.

After completion of the program of the state trials the submarine “Magadan” returned to the enterprise, where shall be conducted maintenance inspection and final finishing.

“Magadan” is the third submarine of the series for Pacific fleet, it was launched on 26 March of current year with high readiness (91%). The submarine was laid down on 1 November of 2019 and before 10 November of 2021 it shall be handed over to Russian naval fleet.

The contract for construction of the series was signed in September of 2016 owing to prolongation of realization of the long-term plan of Russian Ministry of Defense for combat readiness recovery of Russian naval fleet and improvement program of diesel-electric submarines. Currently the construction of the series is carried out very actively and near completion.

The fifth and the sixth submarines of the series - “Mozhaysk” and “Yakutsk” were laid down at the enterprise on 23 August of 2021 under supervision of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

At present time the outer hull of the fourth submarine “Ufa” for Pacific fleet is under construction, pipe installation works, installation of acoustic shielding, electrical installation works are in progress.

“Volkhov” - the second submarine in the series on 24 October of 2020 became organic to Pacific fleet. The first submarine “Petropavlovsk–Кamchatsky” was handed over to Russian Navy on 25 November of 2019.
