JSC ʺADMIRALTY SHIPYARDSʺ WITH PARTICIPATION OF THE RF PRESIDENT, RAISED THE FLAG ON LARGE FISHING FREEZER TRAWLER ʺKAPITAN VDOVICHENKOʺ

08.07.2022

On the eve of the Fisherman’s Day, a solemn ceremony of raising the flag onboard the large fishing freezer trawler built for LLC “Russian Fishery Company” took place at JSC ʺAdmiralty Shipyardsʺ. The event was participated by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The head of the State congratulated the audience and noted the significance of today's event not only for the country's fishing fleet, but also for the entire Russian civil shipbuilding industry.

ʺToday, the fisheries industry, of course, belongs to the most important, key industries, makes a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of many regions of Russia, to ensuring the country's food security.ʺ emphasized the President of the Russian Federation. ʺI am confident that the Russian fisheries industry, despite all external challenges and attempts of the sanction pressure, will continue to develop steadily and increase its competitiveness.ʺ

One of the key strategic priorities, according to Vladimir Putin, includes ʺupdating the fishing fleet, building modern, well-equipped, reliable vessels for fishing companies that meet high environmental requirements, capable of harvesting efficiently, without damaging ecosystems, the wealth that we must pass on to future generations.ʺ

The President congratulated the employees of JSC ʺAdmiralty Shipyardsʺ and expressed confidence that the large freezing trawler ʺKapitan Vdovichenkoʺ would take its rightful place in the ranks of the domestic fishing fleet, expand its capabilities and competitive advantages.

Large fishing freezer trawler “Kapitan Vdovichenko”, the first vessel in the series, was set afloat in March of 2020.

The second vessel in the series – ʺMekhanik Maslakʺ – was set afloat in June last year. Today, the mooring trials are performed for this trawler. The specialists of the shipyard commissioned the auxiliary diesel generators, checked the general ship equipment: separators, pumps, oil, fuel, fire systems, as well as the sea water systems. Besides, works are currently performed to prepare the vessel for commissioning of the special-purpose equipment: fish processing factory, refrigeration and fish meal plants, fishing gear complex.

The enterprise continues active construction of the third and fourth LFFTs – "Mekhanik Sizov" and "Kapitan Martynov", respectively. The employees of the shipyard’s divisions started mooring trials of the third trawler. At the moment, the vessel is energized from ashore, an emergency diesel generator is on, specialists verify the cable and equipment connections. Outfitting works are ongoing for the trawler "Kapitan Martynov.ʺ

The large fishing freezer trawlers of project ST-192 are designed for fishing for pollock and herring with a pelagic trawl at the east coast of Russia, in the Bering Sea and in the Sea of Okhotsk. The capacities of fish processing and fish meal factories provide for processing of 60-80 tons of fish fillet, 80 tons of surimi and 250 tons of fish meal daily. Thanks to the ability to fish in areas remote from the coast, the new vessels will help strengthen the position of the Russian fishing fleet in the world’s oceans.

Main technical and operating characteristics of large fishing freezer trawlers of project ST-192: cargo holds capacity – 5500 m3; length — 108.20 m; breadth — 21.00 m; draught – 8.35 m, sea endurance by fuel load – 45 days; crew – 139 persons, including fish meal factory personnel; full sea speed – 15 knots.
