At JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) was held a ceremony for assigning of title "Honoured Admiralty Employee" to the representatives of production departments of the plant. The event is timed to the birthday of the oldest shipbuilding company of the city. On the 5-th of November JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” will celebrate its 317th anniversary.
Assigning of honorary title "Honoured Admiralty Employee" is a long-term tradition dedicated to the Plant’s Day. Every year a commission consisting of representatives of the production departments and the trade union organization of the Shipyards by voting selects the employees who will be awarded the honorary titles. The general experience of work and the large personal contribution to implementation of the production program of the enterprise are to be considered.
The title "Honoured Admiralty Employee" gives its owner the right for: additional days to vacation, lifetime preferential service under VHI policy at Medical Centre of JSC “Admiralty Shipyards”, provision of free vouchers to the plant’s recreation centres and the benefits when registering of the vouchers for sanatorium treatment.
During ceremony the assigned employees are presented with a certificate, a badge and a valuable gift. This event is held annually on the eve of the birthday of JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” and is intended to mark the recognition of the labour merits of the Admiralty employees.
JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” was founded by the Decree of Peter the First on the 5th of November, 1704. Over the years, the company has built nearly 3,000 ships and vessels of various classes and designations. In the course for more than three centuries JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” has been considered to be a "testing ground" for construction of ships and vessels of new types. The engineers and the foremen of the plant in different years created the ships which became the milestones in the history of the Russian fleet – legendary cruiser "Aurora", the world's first nuclear icebreaker "Lenin", unique vessel of command-and-measurement complex "Marshal Krylov". Today the employees of “Admiralty Shipyards” not only continue, but also develop the best professional traditions of their predecessors.
JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” remains one of the leaders in domestic shipbuilding industry and a recognized centre of conventional submarine shipbuilding of Russia. The vessels built at the Shipyards are part of the military and civil fleets of Russia and many foreign countries.
Currently, the company is successfully building two series of the submarines for the Russian Navy. The plant pays great attention to development of the program for surface vessels. There are three projects under construction at the same time: ice-class patrol ships, a series of large freezer fishing trawlers and an ice-resistant self-propelled platform.
