General Director of JSC «Admiralty Shipyards» Alexander Sergeevich BUZAKOV died unexpectedly on 24th of December.
The professional activity of Alexander Buzakov was fully devoted to construction of ships and vessels. In 1980 he graduated from Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute with speciality «Ship power plants» and mechanical engineer qualification. Straight after graduation Alexander Buzakov started his professional career at the Leningrad Admiralty Association.
He worked at the city eldest shipbuilding facility until November 2004, progressing from position of industrial engineer to chief engineer. Every stage of the career enriched his professional and management experience, giving him the advanced understanding of internal life of the plant.
From 2004 till 2009 Alexander Sergeevich Buzakov successively headed OJSC “Nord Shipyard Shipbuilding Plant”, OJSC “Western Shipbuilding Centre” and worked at FSUE “Middle Nevsky Shipyard”.
In July of 2011 Alexander Buzakov returned to JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” as a chief engineer. Since August of 2011 Alexander Sergeevich worked as the general director of the shipyard.
Over 11 years of Buzakov's administration the shipyard achieved a success in execution of the production programs and reception of new contracts for construction of ships and vessels. The major achievement of JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” during administration of Alexander Buzakov was provision and enforcing its position at the market of modern conventional submarines, surface ships and deep-sea equipment.
Alexander Buzakov paid great attention to company strategic development and searching for new directions of activity. The general director also made a great contribution into the technical and socioeconomic development of the enterprise.
For more than 40 years of work experience Alexander Buzakov took direct part and directed construction and commissioning of dozens of surface ships and submarines as well as civil vessels of various classes and purposes including those having no analogs in domestic and global shipbuilding. His professional approach, the ability to take responsible decisions in a competent and intelligent way as well as ensuring their execution distinguished Alexander Sergeevich Buzakov as a highest level manager, a strong-willed, self-rigorous to himself and his subordinates, attaining a well-deserved authority and respect.
For his longstanding dedicated labour Alexander Sergeevich Buzakov was awarded with order "For naval merits", first and second class medal of the order of Merit for the Motherland, medal "300 years to Russian Fleet", medal "In the memory of 300-years anniversary of Saint-Petersburg". Alexander Sergeevich is a winner of “Russian Federation Government Prize for science and engineering".
The unexpected departure from life of the honoured Admiralty Shipyard employee Alexander Buzakov is a grievous loss for his relatives, familiars and all personnel of JSC “Admiralty Shipyards”.
