JSC “ADMIRALTY SHIPYARDS” AMONG THE WINNERS OF THE SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL CONFERENCE

22.09.2023

Specialists from JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” took part in the annual industry youth scientific and technical conference "Youth Innovation - 2023". The second place among the speakers by the results of the event was taken by Daria Budnikova, design engineer, who presented her work "Method of temporary anti-corrosion protection for stainless steels” within the framework of the conference.

"My work is devoted to examination of the method of preserving stainless steel during the hull construction period. I told the audience how to improve the stainless steel anti-corrosion properties. Thanks to the treatment, it is possible to extend the shelf life of steel without formation of visible corrosion products on it" noted the winner of the event. Based on the results of the research, positive results were obtained, which allow us to recommend the proposed short-term conservation technology for use in construction projects".

In total, three representatives of engineering specialities from the Admiralty Shipyards took part in the scientific and technical conference organized by Marine Engineering Bureau “Malakhit”. They spoke about improving manufacturability and increasing the reliability of ship and vessel hulls, and about the use of additive technology systems in shipbuilding production processes.

Specialists of JSC “Admiralty Shipyards” are regular participants and winners of city and all-Russian scientific and technical conferences and professional skills competitions. Thus, last year the Shipyards won the OEE Award in the category of integrated digital projects, presenting to the jury a project of the three-dimensional 3D-GIS system running on the domestic software. Also in 2022, young engineers of the enterprise received a special jury award in JSC “USC” open competition in the field of design and artistic aesthetics of civil ships and marine equipment by promoting the project of the unique vessel. The representatives of Admiralty Shipyards were selected from 19 finalists in the "Industrial Design for Civil Vessels and Marine Equipment" nomination and were awarded the special "Public Recognition" award for the design project of the five-deck vessel "Umka", which is capable of conquering northern waters and comfortably carrying tourists along one of the most popular and expensive routes — to the Arctic.
